How to create a contract template

Create reusable contract templates — save time and ensure consistency

Create a template step by step

  1. Go to an employee's documents — click the document icon on any employee's profile
  2. Click Create document
  3. Give the template a name — fill in the “Document name” field
  4. Load an existing contract or use our example:
    • If you have your own contract, copy the content into the text field
    • If you don't have a contract, click the template icon (to the right of the “Document name” field) to load our ready-made contract example
  5. Adjust the layout — edit formatting and design as needed
  6. Replace static data with merge fields — click the plus icon in the text menu to find and insert merge fields (e.g. employee name, start date, etc.)
  7. Save as template — click “Save as template” and choose who should have access
  8. Ready to use — the template is now available to all users with access
