How to deactivate an employee
Learn how to properly terminate and deactivate an employee in Frontliners.
Before you deactivate
Before deactivating an employee, make sure all their future shifts are handled. You have two options:
- Transfer shifts to another employee during the termination process.
- Delete the shifts before deactivating the employee.
Step by step
- Go to Staff (Manage staff) in the left menu.
- Click on the employee you want to deactivate.
- Click “Terminate” (or “Fratræd”).
- Set the termination date.
- Choose whether to transfer future shifts to another employee or leave them as open shifts.
- Confirm the termination.
If you get an error
If you cannot deactivate an employee because of remaining shifts, make sure:
- All shifts on or after the termination date are deleted or reassigned.
- Check both published and unpublished shifts.
- If shifts appear to be deleted but the error persists, try refreshing the page and attempting again.
After deactivation
A deactivated employee will no longer appear in the active employee list or be available for scheduling. Their historical data (shifts, salary, etc.) is preserved.
