# Can I send my shift to a specific colleague?

## Give a colleague first pick on your shift by selecting them in the shift swap feature

### Can you choose who takes over your shift?

Not exactly — but you can give one colleague a head start.

When you put a shift up for swapping, you can select a specific employee from the list. That person is the only one who receives a notification right away, giving them the chance to accept the shift before anyone else sees it.

### How to do it

1. Open the shift you want to swap in the Frontliners app.
2. Tap **Shift swap**.
3. Select the colleague you want to give first pick from the list of employees.
4. Send the request.

The colleague receives a notification and can accept the shift. If they do not respond within a reasonable time, the shift may become visible to other employees — depending on how your workplace has set things up.
