How do I handle employee availability and shift requests?

Understanding the difference between employee availability and shift requests is crucial for efficient scheduling. This article explains how to view and manage these two distinct features in Frontliners.

  1. Employee Availability:
    1. Employees can indicate days they are available to work.
    2. View this information under the "Availability" section.
    3. This is for your information only and doesn't require any action.
    4. You don't need to delete or modify these entries.
  2. Shift Requests:
    1. Employees can request specific shifts.
    2. These appear as shifts the employee has agreed to take.
    3. Can be open shifts or shifts another employee wants to trade.
  3. To approve a shift request:
    1. Go to the "Shifts" section.
    2. Locate the requested shift.
    3. Click on the shift to open details.
    4. Select "Approve Request" to assign the shift to the employee.

    Just to remind you, you don't need to enter shifts that employees have requested manually. Approve their requests through the system.
