You've probably noticed that Frontliners asks how you're feeling when you punch in and out. It takes literally 2 seconds, and no - your boss cannot see what you answer.
Why are we doing this?
Researchers from CBS want to find out what affects our mood at work. The cool thing is, they've discovered that many people get in a BETTER mood FROM being at work - good colleagues, busy shifts where time flies, that feeling when you make a perfect coffee... You know.
The important stuff to know:
- 100% anonymous - seriously, no one can see your answers
- No right/wrong answers - if you're having a crap day, answer that
- Takes 2 seconds - just press 1-5
- You don't have to answer - but most people do it automatically
What happens with your answers?
They go straight to some researchers who look at patterns - not at you. They're trying to figure out things like:
- Do people get happier from busy Fridays or quiet Tuesdays?
- Does the weather affect us that much?
- Do we sometimes come to work grumpy and leave happy?
Real talk:
We know it might feel a bit weird the first time. But after a few days, it just becomes part of the routine. Many people find it helpful to check in with themselves, asking, "Okay, how am I actually feeling?"
And hey - you're helping make future workplaces better. That's pretty cool.
